Holistic Wellness

"You have something in yourself that is fundamentally, basically good. It transcends the notion of good or bad. Something that is worthwhile, wholesome and healthy exists in all of us."   ~ Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche

Welcome to my blog! Here, we will be exploring various topics related to Holistic medicine including Body+Mind Wellness, Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and process becoming an all around healthier person. Some of the themes will include:

Connecting with what is already good.

Sometimes we are so focused on what isn’t working we tend to forget about all of the things that are working well. We have eyes to see with, hands to touch with, ears to experience a world of sound. Independent from that, we live in a country where much of the focus in our healthcare system is on sick-care as opposed to healthcare (taking care of what is working well).

When you are in a place of needing help and needing things to improve, even if we are quite ill, our bodies still have the raw ingredients to recover and heal. On an mental emotional level, even if we are very anxious or depressed, there is still an underlying sanity that can be touched into. Our lives are both challenged and abundant and by touching the reality of our present resources we can contact a stable ground to work from.

Relating to obstacles.

We all have our stuck places. Some of them come from long held beliefs which trap us into habitual patterns. Some are from the realities of our current life situation. An additional obstacle can come from not acknowledging that those barriers are there to begin with. How do we relate to and overcome these difficulties?

Enjoying what has already come to fruition.

As you grow, it is helpful to stop and reflect upon where you started from. You can have appreciation for the raw ingredients (the resources that have carried you through) and you can also appreciate the ways that you have grown since you began.
